Introducing “Vortex”, a tessellated paper-folded sculpture inspired by the polygonal porcelain from the “Vjemy” design studio.

This sculpture of diameter of 2 m was conceived for Vjemy’s stand at Designblok 2016. Its design reflects key pieces from the studio, including their polygonal kitchen porcelain and the undulating surface of their oak table. Some see in it a semblance to a burning flame, others a wind vortex or even an assembly of polygonal geometric crystals.

The creation process involved a distinct algorithm. Input data defined the development of the digital model. The final shape, once confined to the digital space, was then realized in the physical world, becoming the focal point of the studio’s exhibition stand.
